Is there an API?
Yes. Skillties is built on an API from the ground up: everything the app does runs through it. Before we grant access, we briefly talk about your use case, so permissions and data scope fit exactly what you have in mind.
Do we need an HCMS connection?
No. Who is in is decided by your directory, such as Microsoft Entra ID. Whatever is missing there, HR adds in Skillties. An HCMS is only worth it if you want to bring in data such as the employee ID or write skills back into the HCMS.
Does Skillties write into our systems?
Never into Microsoft Entra ID; Skillties only reads there. With your HCMS it can go the other way too, if you want. We decide together what flows where.
We don't use Microsoft. Does it still work?
Yes. Upload a list, invite people by email, or let everyone with an address on your domain join on their own. Okta and other directories via SCIM, the standard for syncing accounts, are coming soon.
How often does Skillties sync?
With Microsoft Entra ID every six hours, on its own. For an HCMS connection we agree on the rhythm with you.
What happens when someone leaves the company?
Anyone deactivated in Entra can no longer sign in. If Entra stops supplying a person for 30 days, they leave the workspace. Their data is then deleted after your retention period, six months by default.
Which AI does the MCP server work with?
With any assistant that supports MCP, such as Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, and with your own agents. You connect Skillties once. The MCP server is coming soon.
Can we export our data?
Yes, any time, on your own: members, organization, teams, your skills and Skills Profiles, and feedback as a ZIP with JSON and CSV.
